Bio
Carlo Pignatta began studying the guitar at the age of four at the Suzuki School in Saluzzo under Elio Galvagno. He later continued his studies with Dario Littera, earning the ABRSM Diploma in 2015.
He has attended masterclasses with leading guitarists such as Giulio Tampalini, David Russell, Kazuhito Yamashita, Arturo Tallini, Frédéric Zigante, and Aniello Desiderio, and has been a regular participant at the Italian Guitar Campus.
In 2021, he graduated in Law from the University of Turin with a thesis on music as a rehabilitative tool in prisons. In the same year, he obtained his Master’s Degree in Guitar from the Conservatory “G. Verdi” of Turin, graduating with highest honors.
He is the winner of several national and international competitions, including First Absolute Prize at the “Giovani Interpreti” Competition (Turin), the European Music Competition (Moncalieri), and the “Festina Lente” International Competition (Treviso). He has also been awarded at the “Città di Stresa” Competition and selected for the Premio Nazionale delle Arti.
Pignatta regularly performs as a soloist and chamber musician at international festivals such as Six Ways Festival, Chitarissima, and Murge Music Festival, as well as Levanto Music Festival and Festival Rodrigo.
His discography includes the EPs Circle (2021) and Ricordo (2022), and the album Italian Guitar Campus Series – Carlo Pignatta (2023). In 2025, he released Jean Absil: Guitar Works (DaVinci Publishing), which received critical acclaim and was broadcast on Rai Radio 3 in the program Primo Movimento. His music has also been featured on Rai 1.
Alongside his performing career, he is an active teacher. He obtained the Level IV Suzuki Method teaching qualification in 2022 and taught at the Accademia Suzuki Talent Center in Turin from 2018 to 2024.
